Walkable Albany is a group of citizens advocating for Albany's historic, beautiful, vibrant, dense, and walkable neighborhoods. Albany is a great place to live, and it is getting better by the day. But - as all residents know - it can sometimes feel like Albany sacrifices its urban character for the sake of living up to suburban America's standards.
Walkable Albany meets every month, on Monday, at the Albany public library at 161 Washington Ave.
In addition to this, a sub-group specifically focusing on improving the safety and walkability of Washington Park meets regularly as well.
A full calendar of Walkable Albany meetings and other public meetings we attend can be found on our calendar.
There are a lot of areas in Albany that need our attention. We keep a list and map of these areas here. Suggestions for future additions to this list are always welcome and encouraged.
